The shocking and sudden demise of former CM Jayalalithaa in a tragic manner not only left people of Tamil Nadu in tears but also left a huge vacuum which is extremely difficult to fill. Her demise threw the all powerful AIADMK in disarray as various leaders started fighting with each other to own the legacy of Jayalalithaa. 


This split the AIADMK into three factions,one headed by Sasikala, another by Pannerselvam and yet another by Deepa. They tried to show their power contesting the upcoming by elections in Jayalalithaa's RK.Nagar constituency. 


All these factions left no stone unturned to lure voters and Election Commission canceled the by-elections following reports of usage of money power by ministers of Tamil Nadu government headed by Sasikala faction. 


The byelections generated tremendous interest among people of the country and while everyone waited eagerly to findout who would win the elections, the shocking decision of the Election Commission, though right disappointed many. 


But a survey conducted by over 700 former students of Loyola College in RK.Nagar Constituency came with surprising and shocking results. 
According to the survey people supported the following parties in this manner. 


DMK: 49.25%, AIADMK (Puratchi Thalaivi): 18.45%, AIADMK (Amma): 15.50%, Deepa Peravai: 4.58%, BJP: 1.37%, DMDK: 2.20%, Naam Tamilar Katchi: 2.18%, CPM: 1.22%


69.5% people felt that there should fresh elections as soon as possible and 37.8% felt that E.Palanisamy,of Sasikala faction has no right to be in power. What came as a shocker is 73.8% believed that Sasikala was responsible for the death of Jayalalithaa.
