Asaduddin Owaisi,whose MIM is strong in the Old City,Hyderabad for quite sometime has been trying to expand the party across the country. His party contested polls in Bihar,Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and met with limited success.
This surprised many analysts and MIM thought it is finding its foothold across the country. Owaisi decided to show his power in Delhi municipal polls. The party contested in 9 seats to test its strength.
However Owaisi got a huge shock as MIM failed to open its account. All opposition parties including the ruling AAP headed by Arvind Kejriwal got huge shock as BJP wave swept Delhi virtually decimating the opposition.
Owaisi's cautious fight in Delhi polls didnot have any affect in the triangular fight. It has to be seen how Owaisi will respond to these losses as opposition has been accusing of having secret pact with PM Modi and BJP.
