The TRS president KCR is like a demigod for the people of Telangana and even if they detest his feudal ways of running the party and his over dominating statements, they don’t have a choice but to support KCR. This is the prevailing situation. But if one has to look at things practically what is the position of Telangana?
Right from 2001, when he launched his own party, TRS leaders and especially KCR were trying to give an impression that Telangana is a very prosperous region and there was no need for Andhras to boast of any of their contributions.
But historians who have been following statistics clearly say that Hyderabad state under Nizam was prosperous due to the presence of Kannada and Marathi speaking areas and the huge revenues that were collected from there. Hence Telangana cannot be considered as the only contributor as it shared the prosperity with others before 1948 and with Andhras after 1956!
