The era of Lal Krishna Advani seems to have come to an end today with the announcement of Modi as BJP’s PM candidiate. The stalwart of saffron politics will no longer be at helm of the affairs for the party considered as a national alternative to Congress.
Sources say that he has been forced to make way for the party’s rising star Narendra Modi, who is considered as a protege of Advani. Advani had lifted BJP single handed by increasing it seat count from mere 2 to 85 in Lok Sabha in 1989 General elections buoyed by his rath yaathra to Somnath.
On one hand his loyalist like Murali Manohar Joshi deserted him even as the supporters of Modi like Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley and Advani's another supporter Sushma Swaraj too feel in line. So Advani will now have to give up PM dreams permanently!
