Renowned Indian boxer and Congress MP candidate Vijender Singh on Wednesday said that if BJP has ‘dhai kilo ka haath’ (referring to actor Sunny Deol who recently joined the saffron party) then the Congress now has someone with strong biceps who can fire punches. The Olympic bronze medalist said this while interacting with the media after filing his nomination from the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
As soon as Singh stepped out of the South Delhi Magistrate’s Office premises in Saket, he was mobbed by a large number of journalist asking him questions ranging from his sporting career to his vision for Congress. When one reporter told him that now BJP has ‘dhai kilo ka haath’ then Singh proudly flexed his biceps and said that Congress has this now (referring to his strong biceps).
The term ‘Dhai kilo ka haath’ is part of a famous dialogue of Sunny Deol in the popular 1993 movie ‘Damini’ and has been used by fans and internet trolls alike when referring to the actor. Deol joined the BJP on Tuesday in the presence of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, several days after meeting party president Amit Shah at Pune airport
