The name of LV Subramanyam is resounded in AP state for different reasons. Chief Election Commission has appointed LV Subramanyam as Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary by replacing existing Anil Chandra Punetha. It is very sensational among AP politics. Everyone knows that from DGP to Constable would come under EC purview after announcing the General Elections schedule in the country. But what is happening in AP is Chief Secretary Governance but not CBN’s.
Reaching Chief Secretary Rank is the ambition to any IAS officer in his/her career. CBN was appointed Anil Chandra Punetha as Chief Secretary in 2018. Reportedly, this causes frustration to LV Subramanyam who is Senior than Anil Chandra Punetha. LV Subramanyam is related to 1983 IAS batch where as Anil Chandra Punetha has related to 1984. In general, LV Subramanyam expected Chief Secretary of the state. But CBN took the decision of appointing Anil Chandra Punetha and ignoring LV Subramanyam.
On other side, LV Subramanyam is one of the accused in Jagan’s Disproportion of Assets case. Even HC squashed his involvement in EMMAAR Properties, CBI made an appeal to SC on LV’s involvement in the case. Why EC appointed LV by ignoring all these allegations against him? LV told that CBN has no powers to review till he becomes Chief Minister after the results. It seems that LV wants to review the decisions taken by CBN government before the results comes out on May 23rd. As usual, TDP suspects BJP and YSRCP behind this conspiracy.
