The unknown villages of Tulluru, Mandalam and Veelagapudi in the upcoming capital city of Amravati have undergone a massive change in the last 3 years. These villages used to consist of tiled houses and thatched huts had opted to trade their homes for multi-storeyed buildings, mega apartments and posh villas. Many of the locals and outsiders invested in these new buildings.

Some even thought that they would earn extra money through rent of extended investment. However, these dreams have been shattered as more than 70 percent of the newly added houses are lying vacant. Many workers had to be leave Amravati, of course some people have found business opportunities to invest in with the money that they earned by selling their land.

However, some had invested in the new houses themselves. Initially the new houses were taken on rent by the employees off the construction companies which bagged government contracts. However, when the government changed the things took an ugly turn. The works were stopped and in the last two months most of the houses are lying vacant which means shattered dreams of not just the locals but others who had invested in this project
