hyderabad sources reported that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday announced that the state government has decided to hand over the first installment amount of the farm loan waiver scheme directly to the farmers instead of paying it to the banks as was done in the first term of the TRS government.

Meanwhile when replying to the debate on the Appropriation Bill, Mr Rao appealed to eligible farmers from the floor of the Assembly to make their re-payments with their own money as per their schedule so that interest would not be accumulated for their loans and that the government would release the first installment soon and the eligible farmers will be intimated about the date of the direct payment of the first installment.



Moreover after referring to the demand of the CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka that the government extend the Rythu Bandhu scheme to tenant farmers, Mr. Rao made it clear that he had already declared that the benefit will not extend to tenant farmers and that the TRS remains a government committed primarily to farmers.
