After freak incident that killed a woman in Ameerpet metro station, construction company agrees to pay a compensation to the kin of victim.


A 24yearold woman mounika reddy was killed when she took shelter to evade the rains, a sharp edge of mortar block fell on her. She was accompanied by her cousin travelling from kukatpally to ameerpet on Sunday. After sharp criticism erupted from public, L&T which constructed the metro project in hyderabad agreed to pay compensation of 20 lakhs to the kin of the victim.


The Metro station of Ameerpet which was opened to public in 2017, is a major interchange station, many people have questioned the quality of material used in construction, the mortar which fell from a height of 10 meters, critically injured Mounika, a sharp edge of mortar block fell on her directly, so far there is no report of whether L&T or HMR would hold an inquiry in substandard construction of metro infrastructure.


The victim husband who works in MNC has regretted the decision of asking his wife to travel on metro which he thought was the safest way of commuting.L&T is major construction company who has constructed metro projects in delhi, mumbai,

Bengaluru and kochi, and many prestigious government and corporate infra projects.
