Reportedly Uber announced a slew of changes to overhaul their app, which company CEO Dara Khushrowshahi described as Uber wanting to be “the operating system of your life”. A major change that the company is bringing is the integration of Uber and Uber Eats into the same app, instead of two different apps. According to reports, once the user opens the app, they won’t directly see the location, but two buttons, to either get a ride or to order food.

Furthermore additionally, the company is now introducing a feature that Ola has had for a long time a four digit PIN that you have to read out to the driver when you enter the cab in order to start a ride. Perhaps Uber doesn’t have plans to just stop here, but to go a step further. It wants to use ultrasound waves to verify if its customers are in the right car, without any intervention. Accordingly the ride-hailing company is now even integrating public transportation into its app, and gives its users all the options, with the respective prices.

Khosrowshahi told “We have the philosophy that if there’s a better product out there for the user, and we think an integrated movement solution is better for the user, we should be the ones competing against ourselves versus others doing it”. Moreover the company announced the expansion of its rewards program, titled Uber Rewards, which would allow passengers to redeem points across Uber.
