New delhi sources stated that Prime Minister narendra modi attended Dussehra celebrations at Delhi's Dwarka yesterday. Reportedly the Prime Minister usually attends the dussehra festivities at Ramlila Maidan or Lal Qila ground, but this is the first time he will be in Dwarka in the national capital.

Furthermore preparations were in full swing to welcome the Prime Minister at DDA Ground in Dwarka Sector-10 where the event is being organized by Dwarka sri Ram Leela Society, Rajesh Gehlot, former MLA and chairman of the society. As per the schedule, PM modi had arrived at the venue by 5:30 pm and the effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna was burnt at 6 pm. Perhaps the entry to the venue is strictly by passes only. People with passes can easily reach the venue by getting down at Dwarka Sector-10.



Earlier in 2016, PM modi had attended the Vijayadasami function in Lucknow. On the eve of Dussehra President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister narendra modi and other leaders extended their greetings to the nation. Moreover the President expressed hope that the dussehra festival will inspire people to work towards helping the needy and deprived. President Kovind said "On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashmi, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens and wish them success, prosperity, and happiness. May this festival inspire us to work for the nation-building and making a society that cares for the needy and the deprived”.
