Amit Shah: time to redefine Human rights in Indian context

Amit Shah reiterated the need of redefining human rights in Indian context, he urged to make India best in the  world in terms of human rights. Global parameters shouldn’t be the guidelines for humans rights to be followed, we should redefine it with our own context.

Human rights should not be limited to custodial deaths, police atrocities, it should be included in denials of basic needs like Toilet, electricity, and food, said union home minister Amit Shah.

Global parameters should not be the guidelines for human rights to be followed, in Indian context we should also add poverty and violence which is rampant in our society, most of the time we ignore these human rights violations. He further appreciated the role of NHRC (National human rights commission), the body which looks after violations of human rights cases in the country. Human rights in international and India are two different things, basically because of our rich cultures and beliefs, its wrong to look only in international prism, he added.

He urged to make sure that not a single individual's human rights are violated in the country, its duty of every Citizen to make this happen. He was addressing the 26th foundation day of NHRC.
