Finally on Tuesday mobile phone service was restored in Jammu and Kashmir, which was stopped after August 05, However the SMS was banned later in the evening citing “Precautionary measure”.
The Valley was joyous and jubilant after authorities decided to restore mobile phone services in the state on Tuesday, the restoration of services were green signaled after 72 days, mobile phone services were stopped in the valley after central government decision of Abrogation the Article 370 on August 05 this year. However, the Short messaging service (SMS) were stopped later in the evening citing reason as ‘Precautionary measure’.
Only Post-paid mobile services were reopened, Two suspected terrorists shot down a Rajasthani truck driver after a scuffle with an orchard owner in Shopian district, terrorists were desperate after fruits business picked up in the state. As of now, over 25 lakh prepaid mobile phone remained deactivated as per officials.
Governor satya pal malik informed that it might take one month for decision on resuming prepaid mobile services. In mid-August mobile services were activated in Jammu, but because of misuse it was later snapped.
