One name that emerges in biggest crusaders of Muslims side in the Babri masjid is the committee founded in the year 1986, as we near to the most biggest court case in the history of Indian judicial system.
Advocate Zafaryab Jilani is one noticeable voices from Muslim side in legal battle of Ram Janambhoomi- Babri masjid land dispute case, he recalls that one famous Islamic scholar named ali Miya called him to discuss the matter legally in 1983, later Jilani was paid 2000 rupees by ali Miyan as fees towards collecting evidences and papers pertaining to Babri masjid, he urged to start a “Tahrik" (Movement) within the community to support the cause of Babri Masjid.
The wrangle of Babri mosque started way back in 1857, then muezzin of Masjid filed a petition in the magistrate court complaining of a courtyard of Mosque being taken over by Mahant of Hanumangarhi, later British authorities constructed a wall segregating the worship places of Hindu and Muslims, since then till intervening nights if 22nd and 23rd December 1949 the status quo remained same.
The committee is anxiously anticipating the verdict of the court, which is expected by mid November this year. But, this committee would definitely find themselves in the historical journey of long pending case in the country.
