Hyderabad sources stated that Telangana Government’s Excise department which opened doors for huge income with its new liquor policy had received nearly 41,000 applications till Wednesday, October 17 which was the last date for applications given by the Telangana government. Telangana's New liquor policy will be effective from November 1, 2019, to November 1, 2021. Presently the Telangana Government is focused to increase alcohol sales to gain huge profits and to drastically increase the revenue of the state as liquor is the main source of income to the state.

Furthermore kcr led Telangana Rashtra Samithi government has increased the non-refundable application fee from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh which is double the previous amount. Perhaps this did not have any effect on the people of Telangana, and huge number of applications have been received in Telangana and recently the Exercise department created a record in 2017 by receiving 41,000 applications and gained an income of 410 crores, through a non-refundable application fee.



Moreover in 2019, the Exercise department received 42,905 applications but the revenue generated will be double when compared to 2017 due to an increase in the non-refundable application fee. Apparently the Telangana new liquor policy scheme yielded fruitful results to the CM kcr government and of the 42,905 applications filled in Telangana for new liquor policy, some applications were received from people of Andhra Pradesh. Moreover for the complete 2,216 liquor shops in Telangana state about 42,905 applications had been received, Telangana Exercise department are to finally choose the shop owners through a lottery system on Friday, October 18, and will announce the winners of the lottery.
