Reportedly a surprise awaited Union Minister smriti irani as she reached the polling booth today. Apparently a 93 year old man had been waiting to see her since the morning. Meanwhile when he finally met her, the nonagenarian lovingly called Khanna uncle gifted her fruits. Officials said “Altogether 17.5% voters exercised their franchise in the first five hours in maharashtra and Haryana, after polling began at 7 am on Monday”.

 


Furthermore several Bollywood celebrities, including madhuri dixit Nene, dia mirza and Congress leader priya Dutt stepped out on Monday morning to vote for the maharashtra Assembly elections. The first family of Shiv Sena, the Thackerays Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, wife Rashmi and sons Aditya and tejas cast their vote in Bandra (East). Aditya Thackeray is a candidate from Worli constituency.

 


Moreover maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray also prayed at the siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai. MNS president Raj Thackeray and his family cast their votes at shivaji Park in Mumbai. Furthermore varun Dhawan, Preity Zinta, urmila Matondkar, john abraham and others stepped out to vote in Mumbai.  By-polls are also being held to 51 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 18 states. In Maharashtra, the 'Mahayuti' alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and smaller parties is against the 'Maha-agadhi' led by the Congress and the NCP. The ruling BJP is locked in a contest with the opposition Congress and the fledgling JJP for the 90 assembly seats in Haryana.
