As we are witnessing the counting of votes in maharashtra elections today, early trends started in the morning for 288 seats state assembly, there are few specific seats in the state which reflects the mood of the results.

There are few bellwether seats which has set the trends for the political parties in earlier elections, the seats of Andheri, Murbad, Kandivali, and Pune cantonment constituencies which have voted for the party formed the government eventually since 1990.

Murbad constituency stands out though, this seat has voted only to a party which formed the government in the state since 1952. maharashtra was congress party bastion till 1995 after bjp and Shiv Sena formed the alliance, this constituency elected its first non-congress contestant feeling the political pulse of the state.

Congress and its traditional ally NCP ruled the state from 1999 to 2014, Murbad had NCP candidate winning in this time frame, although in 2014, bjp candidate won unexpectedly from this seat, Murbad sensed the political change in the state. Andheri seat though have voted for the candidate belonging to alliance which formed government in the state since 2004.

These seats are to be watched out to sense the change in political fronts of the state.
