As results were declared yesterday in maharashtra assembly elections, many surprising facts came out, results were completely opposite to what most exit polls predicted, prominent leaders and few incumbent ministers lost their respective constituencies.
Although BJP-Shiv Sena alliance nda returned to power in maharashtra, but the victory wasn’t satisfactory for them. bjp who was claiming of hitting double century (winning 200+ seats) has to eventually take support of shiv sena for forming government in the state, on other hand NCP and congress performed unexpectedly well winning 100+ seats together. Some interesting facts came out to surprise us from results of assembly elections.
Most of the turncoats who dumped congress and NCP to join either bjp or SS have bite dust, as many as 19 defectors lost elections out of 35. Many prominent incumbent ministers of previous government surprisingly lost in their own bastion. Gopinath Munde's daughter and minister for rural development and women and child welfare Pankaja Munde tasted embarrassing loss in her constituency by 30,000 votes. Interestingly narendra modi rallies in 3 constituencies made no magic, NCP dominated the western maharashtra region winning majority of seats.
Raj Thackrey MNS completely failed as it won only one seat like in previous elections. Although congress performance was better than previous elections, but they fail to consolidate in Konkan region, the party lost many seats in the region.
