Even though the cases on Kodela's family appeared to have slowed down after the suicide of the former speaker, they have once again picked pace. A close aide of former Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao was taken into custody by Narasaraopet police this morning. Guttha Nagaprasad was instrumental in forcibly collecting K-taxes from different sections of people in Sattenapalli, Narasaraopet and guntur constituencies.

He is one of the accused in most of the cases filed on Kodela siva prasad Rao and also his son Kodela Sivaram. After the change of government, victims started pursuing the cases filed on Guttha Nagaprasad. Nagaprasad went underground from the last three months.

Sivaram used Nagaprasad as his Benami, after allegedly encroaching hundreds of acres of land in guntur, Sattenapalli, and Narasaraopet. Basing on the testimony of Guttha Nagaprasad, the police may also book Kodela Sivaram. However, the government may take time to touch the Kodela family since such a move may ignite sympathy for them politically and portray the government as vindictive. The main opposition, tdp is already playing a victim card ever since the demise of Kodela.
