It is known to our readers that the
cbi court in Nampally had dismissed the petition of
andhra pradesh chief minister, YS
jagan Mohan Reddy seeking exemption from personal appearance in
court for every trial in the different cases filed relating to disproportionate assets.
With an hour of this happening, his lawyers moved the
high court stating that
jagan was entitled to get the exemption in accordance with the principles of natural justice. They pointed out that
jagan is not an ordinary politician now but is in a responsible position of the
chief minister of a state, which required his presence all through the week to administer the state. As such, he cannot attend the trial
court every Friday.
They also informed the court that the exemption is sought only in the interest of the larger interest of people of andhra pradesh but not because it is inconvenient for Jagan. They also mentioned in the petition that the chief minister coming to the court every friday will have huge financial implications on the state which is already reeling under severe financial stress.
