Accordingly the cause of Delhi's miserable air pollution has many factors to be considered like location, climate, road dust, badly maintained diesel vehicles and perhaps after diwali, thick smog has enveloped in delhi, causing a lot of health problems among people who reside in the capital. Meanwhile the air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 500 on monday and it is considered as in the "severe" category.
Furthermore it is also the highest since november 2016, when the AQI reached a staggering 497 on Sunday. So many schools have been shut till tuesday to avoid respiratory diseases among children and in fact, the severity even prompted the majority of them to say they wanted to move out of the city. Currently the question has raised, especially on social media, that if delhi indeed deserves to be called the national capital in the first place. Even though delhi has been suffering air pollution from many years, this time, the smog has interrupted day to day work life in people. And winters only make the situation worse.
