hyderabad sources stated that the employees unions of telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on thursday have given a call for 'Chalo Tank Bund' protest to be organized on Saturday. Meanwhile the rtc JAC convener ashwathama reddy urged rtc employees to turn up in large numbers for the protest and make it another Million March. He said “We will consider holding Million March to press for our demands, and it may be recollected that the Million March, held in 2011 on the Necklace Road in hyderabad mobilized public support to the telangana Separation movement then.
Furthermore he claimed the strike would be resolved if chief minister K chandrasekhar Rao, who has reportedly been holding long meetings on the issue, talks to the unions for some time. Perhaps the Tank Bund Road, on the banks of Hussain Sagar lake here, connects hyderabad and secunderabad where the opposition congress and BJP have also announced their support to the 'Chalo Tank Bund' protest.
Moreover the strike by the employees entered the 35th day on friday and the workers organised protests in various forms, including demonstrations, sit-ins and submitting memoranda to public representatives, at different places in the state. Apparently the government had said if the stir continued, it would go ahead with the plan to permit private bus operators to run services in the remaining 5,000 of the total of 10,400 routes, leading to a situation where the TSRTC virtually ceased to exist. Perhaps the high court on thursday announced that it will take a final call to end the rtc strike on november 11.
