Section 144 is imposed near the Parliament after jawaharlal nehru students decided to march to protest against the hostel fees hike. The police tried to stop the students with a barricade and the agitating students broke the barricades and proceed further.

The protests continue inside the university block for the past 3 weeks against the hike in the hostel fee despite JNU announced a rollback on the decision. The union said it will be a march to save public education and appeal to MPs to take up the cause.
