There has been a lot of dissent in the public about how telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao remained totally silent about the heinous rape and murder of priyanka Reddy in Shadnagar. The chief minister finally reacted on the issue three days after the crime. He ordered setting up of a fast track court for expeditious trial and assured all necessary help to her family.

He also described the rape and murder of the 26-year old woman by four men as 'ghastly' and expressed his deep anguish. He directed the officials to initiate the process for setting up a fast track court and ensure that the culprits get tough punishment, according to the statement of the Chief Minister's office.

It is already known to our readers that all the four men, all lorry workers, were booked under Sections 376D (gangrape), 302 (murder), 201 (destroying evidence) of the indian Penal Code and sent to 14 days judicial custody. The police managed to crack the case in just 24 hours after the crime. There are demands that they should be hanged to death immediately from all quarters of society. They are currently jailed in Cherlapally Central Prison under tight security.
