Sources from Patna stated that Incarcerated Lalu prasad was on tuesday re-elected as the national president of his Rashtriya Janata Dal for the 11th consecutive term, though the charismatic leader remained conspicuous by his absence here on the occasion. Meanwhile, Prasad, who had founded the party in 1997, is at Ranchi serving sentences in fodder scam cases and his nomination papers were submitted at the RJD state headquarters by his sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav.

 

Furthermore, Prasad's duly authorized papers were brought here by a close aide and party mla Bhola Yadav, filed in presence of other RJD bigwigs like national vice president Raghuvansh prasad Sing and state president Jagadanand Singh among others. Earlier, New delhi sources stated that a bench headed by Chief Justice Rajan Gogoi said it is not inclined to enlarge Yadav on bail in the cases. Meanwhile, the bench rejected Yadav's arguments that he has been in jail for 24 months, saying in comparison to the 14-year sentence awarded to him 24 months was nothing.

 

As per report he was subsequently declared elected unopposed and Yadav, filed in presence of other RJD bigwigs like national vice president Raghuvansh prasad Singh and state president Jagadanand Singh among others.
