Presently researchers of Bits Pilani hyderabad have developed a system known as 'Right Biotic' and this system will help in identifying bacteria in polluted rivers and also in identifying antibiotic bacteria. Perhaps this system innovated by hyderabad researchers was also used in conducting a quick hygiene survey of musi river following the direction of National Green Tribunal (NGT). As per the survey which was made by using Right Biotic, Musi is contaminated with highly pathogen bacteria, including faecal bacteria which indicated that the river is highly contaminated with sewage.

Accordingly the Central pollution Contro Board (CPCB) had recommended that the Right Biotic can be used for conducting similar surveys in all polluted river stretches in the country, after validation by the Department of Science and technology (DST). When speaking to a daily, innovator and of Right Biotic and senior professor at the department of biological sciences in BITS Pilani hyderabad, Prof suman Kapur said that the system was originally developed for testing urine samples for pathogenic bacteria that can lead to Urinary Tract Infections and antibiotic sensitivity in the pathogens.

Kapur added talking about the speciality of the Right Biotic system "While the usual culture and sensitivity tests take around 48 to 72 hours to give proper results, Right Biotic will take only 4 hours". Furthermore one of the states in the country has already shown interest to use the system free rivers from pathogenic contamination and Kapur said Right Biotic is already in use for clinical purpose at 19 healthcare facilities in different states across the country".
