Sources from New delhi stated that south Central Railway (SCR) bagged four national energy conservation awards on saturday by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Ministry of Power in New Delhi. Central minister of Railways, piyush goyal appreciated the officers of SCR on the achievements. Meanwhile according to reports, minister of State for Power rk Singh, presented the awards at the National Energy Conservation Awards ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New delhi on Saturday.
Furthermore the report said the Electric Traction Training Centre (ETTC), vijayawada, has bagged the ‘Certificate of Merit’ award at the national level in energy conservation, whereas SCR has bagged three more National Energy Conservation Awards. Hence according to the railway officials, the ETTC has also bagged another prestigious award for saving one lakh units of electricity per annum under universities/institutes category.
Moreover as per report senior divisional electrical engineer V. Venkata ramana said to the daily that ETTC was following energy conservation measures such as solar energy, use of LED fittings, energy efficient pumps, star labelled electric equipments, timers for water coolers to save energy and presented the awards at the National Energy Conservation Awards ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan, New delhi on Saturday.
