kolkata sources stated that trinamool congress (TMC) chief mamata banerjee on wednesday questioned amit shah on the contentious citizenship amendment act, 2019. She said, ''Aadhaar card is not a proof (of citizenship) then why are you linking everything with it?'' As per report it was stated that Banerjee further attacked the current government by saying that bjp says 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' when in reality they bring 'disaster' for everyone. She said ''BJP wants to turn the entire country into a detention centre but we will not let that happen".

Perhaps when asking amit shah to better the situation in the country she said, ''I would appeal to the Union home minister to take care of the country and control his party cadres.'' Moreover the ruling trinamool congress (TMC) in West bengal took out rallies across the state on sunday, protesting against the amended Citizenship Act. Apparently several senior party leaders, including ministers, led rallies in various districts and also appealed to the people to maintain peace and refrain from indulging in violence. Perhaps for the third consecutive day, West bengal chief minister mamata banerjee on wednesday hit the streets Citizenship (Amendment) Act and NRC and TMC supremo Banerjee, along with her party colleagues, began a protest march from Howrah Maidan which will culminate at Dorina Crossing at Esplanade in the heart of Kolkata.

She said before commenting the march "We will never allow NRC and the amended Citizenship Act in Bengal. No one will be asked to leave the state. We believe in the coexistence of all religions, castes and creed. All of us are citizens of this country, no one can take that away from us".
