The Cyberabad police investigating the gang-rape and murder of Disha are likely to file the final report (referred charge sheet) in the case by the month-end. Meanwhile, the police claim that two of the accused during their investigation admitted that they are involved in nine other such crimes in the past. 

 

Meanwhile, the families of the four accused have approached the supreme court, seeking registration of murder case against the police officers involved. Alleging that the youth was killed in a stage-managed gunfight, the families sought investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or some other agency.

 

They also sought direction to telangana government to pay them Rs 50 lakh compensation each. The families filed a common writ petition under the provisions of Article 32 of the Constitution that enables individuals to seek redressal for the violation of their fundamental rights. The four accused were arrested by Cyberabad police after the brutal rape and murder of Disha, a 27-year old veterinary doctor at shadnagar in the last week of November. They were killed in an encounter on december 6th as the police claim they attacked them with stones and guns.
