AIMIM President asaduddin owaisi is leading an agitation against the modi government over the citizenship amendment act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). A few days ago, he requested andhra pradesh chief minister YS Jagan mohan reddy not to allow the implementation of NRC and save the minorities. Jagan heeded to his request and announced that he will not implement NRC in the state. 

 

And now, Owaisi made a similar request to his ally cum friend, telangana chief minister K chandrasekhar Rao. He appealed to the chief minister to stay work on the National population Register (NPR) as done by the kerala government. The NPR is scheduled to begin in april next year. "With folded hands, I am appealing to the chief minister to stop NPR which is not good for the country," he said, hours after the Union cabinet gave its approval for NPR.

 

The AIMIM chief lauded trs for opposing Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Parliament. "The chief minister told me he will not do politics on Hindu-Muslim," said Owaisi. Owaisi quoted from the website of Union Ministry of home Affairs to say that NPR is the first step towards the creation of NRC.
