It is known to our readers that ap CID had registered a case on the alleged Insider Trading in amaravati, wherein several big people had bought lands in their benami names. CID now wrote to ED authorities to take up further investigation. They reportedly sent a file with the details of land dealings in amaravati, along with the names of original plot holders, those who had purchased these lands from farmers and the financial dealings involved in it.
CID already disclosed that nearly 797 white ration card holders had purchased land parcels of nearly 700 acres of land worth several crores of rupees before the announcement of amaravati as capital. The sub-committee appointed by the government said that it has found insider trading in the purchase of 4,070 acres of land in the capital region.
The department also served notices on the white ration cardholders who purchased lands in amaravati and also approached the Income Tax department with the Aadhaar card details of around 477 persons who have purchased lands and sought details of PAN cards and Income Tax returns. None of the said persons were Income Tax assessees, but some of them were PAN cardholders.
