Many aspirants who want to contest for MLA and MP Segments in Ananthapuram district have rushed towards TDP and YSRCP offices with their bio-data. None of the aspirants has reached Congress office seeking for Tickets. Sitting Congress MLAs and MPs are also looking towards other parties. Congress leaders are dejected with the CWC decision on Telangana and people in SA especially, Ananthapur people are seething with anger at the Congress decision.
Senior leaders are worrying their electoral prospects in 2014 general elections. There are 14 Assembly and 2 Parliament Segments in the district. For Hindupur, Congress has no candidate to contest. Khasim Khan who had contested in 2009 is joined in YSRCP. There is no in-charge to look into the Hindupur Segment affairs. Congress desperately needed in-charge for Dharmavaram Segment also. Sitting Congress MLA Kethi Reddy too joined in YSRCP. Appointed in-charge for Putaparthy for Congress Mohan Reddy is also left YSRCP. Congress has co-ordinators in Penugonda, Kadiri and Hindupur Assembly Segments but not interested to contest as its nominees.
Senior leaders like Anantha VenkataRami Reddy (MP), Raghuveera Reddy (Madakasira), Sailajanath (Singanamala), JC (Tadipatri) and Madhusudhan Gupta (Guntakal) are getting dejected mood. They not even concentrated on their segments in party affairs. Anantha VenkataRami Reddy strictly limited to Ananthapuram Assembly Segment where as other leaders have no plans to contest. On whole, Congress needs to work from starting in Ananthapuram district.
