Reportedly as the scare of coronavirus spreads, the government on tuesday announced in exports of 26 pharma chemicals like Paracetamol and Tinidazole. It amended the export policy of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and formulations made from these APIs. A notification issued by Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and industry said that the restrictions will come into immediate effect and until further orders.

 

The notification covers following APIs and formulations made from these APIs: Paracetamol, Tinidazole, Metronidazole, Acyclovir, vitamin B1, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, Progesterone, Chloramphenicol, Erythromycin Salts, Neomycin, Clindamycin Salts and Ornidazole. Shortage of pharma raw material from china has threatened domestic drug manufacturing.
