tdp Senior Leaders - buddha venkanna and bonda uma were attacked in Macherala by a local when they are going to the nomination of a party candidate. A lawyer accompanying them in the car was grievously injured and had to rush to the hospital.
The opposition party is trying to use this as their trump card before the elections. tdp leaders including chandrababu naidu came before the media and try to paint it as an atrocity of the Ruling Party. But sources say that it is the work of the locals. "The car driver was drunk and hit a physically handicapped boy and fled from the scene. It has angered the locals and they attacked the car," the locals say.
The leaders who were in the car did not even try to help the boy. On the other side, the State election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar on wednesday said that the election commission would consider taking serious measures against those who try and prevent candidates from filing nominations for contesting in the local bodies elections. He went on to say that there is no information for them about the macherla incident.
