After repeated complaints and court cases by the Opposition telugu desam party, the State election commission had applied brakes for YS jagan Mohan Reddy's government plan to distribute house sites to 25 Lakh Eligible Poor in all the Thirteen Districts of Andhra Pradesh. The government has planned to do that on the 25th of this month as Ugadi Special.
But State
election Commissioner, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar instructed all
district Collectors and
election Officials not to allow this program as the Model Code of Conduct is underway for the
local Elections. The
government planned to distribute 26.6 lakh house-site
pattas to the poor by the Ugadi
festival in 14,097
ysr Jagananna housing colonies. The State
government earmarked 5000 Crore to acquire the necessary lands from the farmers in various districts.
When everything is ready,
tdp brought the
election commission under pressure with repeated complaints to stop the distribution of the lands. Only the other day, Opposition
leader Chandrababu met the
governor and complained about the
election commission being partial towards the Ruling Party. It looks like
ec has come under pressure and taken this decision even though it is an ongoing scheme.
