tirumala tirupati Devasthanam Board had taken a big decision to close tirumala tirupati venkateswara swamy temple today in wake of corona virus effect. Already one Ghat road, pushkarni etc closed. The public won't be allowed for balaji darshan until the situation becomes normal.
The decision was taken after one devotee from maharashtra took ill with fever, cough, cold, inside tirumala temple and had to be shifted to hospital. The patient sample sent for coronavirus testing. He was traveling with a group of 100 people visiting temples across the country. He came to tirumala after visiting the temple in Varanasi. If this devotee tests positive, it is a cause for great alarm.
Pilgrims were stopped at the Alipiri gate at the foothills from wednesday afternoon. All guest houses in tirumala were asked to be vacated. Only 12-14 priests will be allowed inside the temple in order to perform the daily pujas in two shifts. Close to 75000 to 90000 pilgrims visit the temple every day. Over the last week, due to the scare and efforts by the temple administration to regulate the rush, the number had dwindled to 30000, which is not a small number in itself.
