Across the country, the total number of cases is around 4,500, according to the stats available with the Union Ministry of health and Family Welfare. On the other side, the Governments have started random testing in areas that are hotspots of the cases across the nation. This will know if there is a chance of Stage-3.
A disease is considered to have reached ‘community transmission’, or stage 3 when authorities are unable to find the source of the infection for a large number of cases or many tests during a randomized surveillance yield positive results. Today is the fourteenth day of the 21 days Nationwide Lockdown.
A study by the indian Council of Medical Research reveals that one Corona positive person can infect 406 people in 30 days if he/she doesn't follow lockdown, social distancing. This should send the shudders down the spines of the people and also underlines the importance of extending the Lockdown after april 14th. Several state governments are asking the central government to extend the Lockdown even if that means losing the revenues badly. It has to be seen what the Center decides!
