telangana state recorded 404 coronavirus cases as per the medical bulletin last night. There is no update yet about the cases recorded today. There are rumors that the government is intentionally hiding cases so that the Public do not panic. hyderabad has a hotbed of the cases with as many as 170 cases. The capital City of telangana is only after mumbai in the highest number of cases.
In the wake of the increasing cases, government of telangana has banned spitting of paan/chewable tobacco or non-tobacco product, sputum, in public places and institutions, as a public health measure. The police department is instructed to enforce this ban with immediate effect.
On the other side, there are rumors that telangana may extend the Lockdown itself even if the central government does not do so. We have seen the chief minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao strongly advocating the Lockdown for another two weeks. Meanwhile, modi government is taking the views of all the states to take the decision further. Sources say that a decision is likely on the 11th or 12th of this month in a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.
