Accordingly PM narendra modi just announced the extension of Pan-India lockdown till May 3, 2020, to curb the spread of coronavirus Pandemic. Now, how is this going to affect the education sector? Well, to put in simple terms, schools, colleges, and institutes will remain closed till May 3, 2020, Board exams are further postponed, due to this board results will for many states will also get further postponed. Due to this the admission procedure in universities will also get affected. With this, major entrance examinations will further get postpone now.

 

While many state boards have decided to release the results without conducting the pending exams, CBSE could only implement the same strategy by debarring few papers which are not the "main subjects". On the other hand, JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 have also been postponed due to the lockdown. In the last week of march, after the PM had imposed nationwide lockdown for 21 days NTA had announced that the NEET and JEE Main will be held in last week of May. However, with today's announcement it is expected that the dates of these exams will be pushed further.

 

A few days back the odisha government declared that they will be extending the lockdown. With this, the government also announced that all schools and colleges will remain close till june 17, 2020. Following its footsteps, we also saw West bengal doing the same. Schools and colleges in WB will remain closed till june 10. The government has said that the lockdown has been extended till april 30, 2020. karnataka panel has also suggested extending lockdown at the hot spots beyond april 14, 2020, along with shutting all schools and colleges till May 31, 2020. With this, a group of ministers has also suggested that all the educational institutions should remain closed till May 15, 2020, so as to stop the spread of coronavirus Outbreak.
