The Vaccine Candidate by Oxford university was announced to arrive for September. This is the earliest claim by any research and people across the globe are waiting for it. But the vaccine development hit a roadblock with the Oxford university candidate for the vaccine failing in animal tests.

Reports are that the vaccine which is known as ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 was not able to stop the virus from getting into the rhesus macaque monkey. The rhesus macaque is a primate and a native of Southeast Asia. It may not be able to stop the virus from attacking humans and contain further spread.

The ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 being tested is a weakened form a common cold virus (adenovirus) that affects chimpanzees but has been neutered to prevent replication in humans. All the monkeys which got the shot were infected. There was no difference in the amount of viral RNA detected from this site in the vaccinated monkeys as compared to the unvaccinated animals. So, we are back to square one in regards to a vaccine. There are close to five million Coronacases across the globe which have resulted in 323K deaths until now.
