Reportedly the Novel coronavirus brought the entertainment industries across the country to a standstill. Now as it has been over two months that everything has stopped, chief minister of maharashtra uddhav thackeray, has asked the entertainment industry to prepare a plan of action so as to resume shooting and production with necessary guidelines. cm uddhav thackeray interacted with the artiste, and various members of the fraternity especially from the Marathi industry, theatre and television. The same was announced on the official social media handle.

 

The message read, “CM uddhav balasaheb thackeray interacted with artiste & producers from the entertainment industry, especially Marathi film, theatre & television series via video conference today. further read, “He said the State will consider any action plan proposed by them for reviving shooting and post-production activities if it includes physical distancing norms and other precautions.” In the meeting, cm uddhav thackeray first ruled out the possibility of theatres or cinema halls reopening. However, the members of the fraternity demanded that the single screens should be saved, poor music composers are helped and the GST on film productions be removed.

 

“The State government will stand firmly with technicians, backstage artistes, workers, folk artistes and tamasha performers in this crisis. The chief minister also said that rent concessions for those who have erected sets in the Film City, will be considered,” the message by cm uddhav Thackeray’s office read. This has surely come in like a breath of fresh air for the filmmakers.
