As per report delhi Metro services were suspended ever since the nationwide lockdown began in the month of march to curb the spread of Covid19. And now, as per fresh reports, the delhi Metro rail Corporation (DMRC) is expected to start its metro rail services from june 1.  According ro reports, DMRC is gearing up for the resumption of the services as all the employees were asked to report to work on Tuesday. The delhi Metro administration has asked its 14,000 strong workforce has been asked to report on duty on May 26, reports said. 

 

Earlier, it was reported that the metro rail services will resume during lockdown 4.0 which started on May 4. However, the Centre didn’t give its approval for the resumption of its operation. Speaking to the media about resuming the service, delhi Transport minister Kailash Gahlot said that there is no official confirmation yet from the centre. delhi government wants that metro train services should be started again soon. 

 

He further added that whenever such directions comes from the centre regarding resumption DMRC would require a minimum of two days for preparations. According to reports, if the government approves the resumption, DMRC has planned to ensure strict social distancing and other precautionary measures.
