In this Corona affected world, our lives are a bit easier due to the BHIM UPI payment method, and that allows us to transact money effortlessly and conveniently. But, what we are going to say might shock you if you are a user of the BHIM UPI app. A security research firm from israel that goes by the name of VPN Mentor has revealed that personal records of over 7 million users of BHIM were exposed in a website breach.

 

According to VPN Mentor, the website was developed by CSC e-Governance Sevices in a partnership with the indian government and was being used by businesses and consumers. At the same time, NPCI or National Payments Corporation of india has however refuted these claims. An official statement reads, "We have come across some news reports which suggest data breach at BHIM App.

 

We would like to clarify that there has been no data compromise at the BHIM App and request everyone to not fall prey to such speculations. NPCI follows a high level of security and an integrated approach to protect its infrastructure and continue to provide a total robust payments ecosystem."
