chennai sources stated that the tamilnadu government led by chief minister Edappadi Palanisamy on saturday announced some key relaxations in the lockdown norms, which are likely to help normal life to return to their previous best to a large extent. In some of the key relaxations, the state government has permitted all kinds of shops to re-open and resume their businesses including in Tamilnadu. However, shopping malls have not been given this exemption and in effect they will remain shut until further notice. In a press release late, the state government also exempted the tamilnadu State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses from the ongoing night curfew in the state. Effectively, the buses can ply even during the evenings until their stipulated time.
Out of the 1,112 TN Internal cases, chennai alone has 967 cases. The government is not doing enough tests in the rest of tamil Nadu. More of Unlock 1 relaxations are applicable to outside Chennai. Govt should do more tests both in chennai and the Rest of TN.
Compared to the peak of 14,000 tests, TN is doing only 11,000 tests. But the cases are new high. The relaxation in lockdown has been a new headache for the TN Government.
