Tamil Nadu has registered a total of 24,586 COVID-19 cases as on date and Koyambedu market cluster makes up 28.18% of this total. A total of 15000+ patients in chennai have been infected by directly visiting the market or by getting in contact with someone from the market. This accounts for 18.26% of the city’s total number of cases. As of today, chennai has a total number of more than 15000 cases, of which more than 12000 are active.
Speaking to the press, tamil Nadu health minister Vijaya bhaskar said that the government is clueless about controlling the Corona pandemic in chennai as more than 70% of cases in tamil Nadu are from chennai only.
The health minister also added that strict lockdown measures are not giving any solution in the city as the Koyambed market cluster has already given enough troubles for the people of Chennai.
