According to sources an AirAsia flight with 70 passengers on board made an emergency landing to the Rajiv gandhi international airport (RGIA) here after developing a technical snag before landing on Tuesday. Everyone in the flight are safe. Meanwhile the aircraft VT-IXC operating as i51543 from jaipur to hyderabad encountered a technical issue and carried out a precautionary engine shut-down. Handling the situation calmly in a professional manner, the crew landed at RGIA, a statement issued by the airlines read, according to a daily.

 

The flight landed at 1.30 PM as per schedule and the passengers for the onward journey to bengaluru were accommodated in another flight, AirAsia sources told a news agency. Tense passengers heaved a sigh of relief when the aircraft landed with any further problems. The aircraft was later grounded and was being examined by aviation engineers and passengers were sent off in another flight.

 

“We are carrying out a detailed inspection of the aircraft, having informed DGCA we are assisting in the investigation to establish the cause,” the statement read. “The pilots and crew are experienced and well trained to manage these situations. We apologise for the delay on the subsequent flight and confirm that our guests have been re-accommodated,” an AirAsia india spokesperson said.
