The other day, telangana government had decided to allow Private Labs and Hospitals to conduct coronavirus Tests and treat. However, the state government has announced a detailed list of prices for the same. The government has fixed the cost of COVID-19 tests at Rs. 2,200.
Treatment cost without ventilator will be Rs 7,000 per day and it would be Rs 9,000 per day if treated on a ventilator. The state government fixed the cost of isolation in private hospitals as Rs 4,500 per day.
There are reports that Private Hospitals are charging as much as 20 Lakhs for COVID treatment. Moreover, the beds are reserved only for the Rich and Influential. However, it has to be seen if the government can rein the Medical Mafia for fleecing the people in the name of Corona Treatment.
chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has been deferring the permission to Private entities to prevent the loot but they are already treating some patients unofficially. Let us see if they will toe in line with the government now that there are clear instructions regarding the charges that are to be levied.
