A few days ago, telangana government announced that it will be doing 50,000 tests in the next 10 days. The government is already short of the target and now, the state government on thursday decided to stop Covid-19 testing in the limits of Greater hyderabad Municipal Corporation for two days.

This is because a lot of samples already collected are yet to be tested. With a huge backlog, the healthcare system is apparently not in a position to carry out new tests. The testing will again resume from Saturday. This development comes a day after telangana health minister, Eatala Rajender's announcement that the State has got a testing capacity of more than 10,000 per day.  On the contrary, testing itself has been suspended for two days.

According to the Medical Bulletin released last night, telangana has recorded 891 cases in a single day, taking the total cases to 10,444. The state also recorded 225 deaths till date. The state has done 67,318 tests and out of that, 10,444 samples have turned positive. Around 70% of the total cases are from hyderabad, the capital Region of telangana State.
