With the Vizag Lok Sabha seat being left by TDP to the BJP, the race among various party leaders for the ticket is turning interesting. The main aspirants here are BJP AP unit chief Kambhampati Haribabu and former Union ministers D. Purandeswari and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao. After much deliberation, TDP agreed to give Vizag, Araku, Narasapuram, Rajampeta and Tirupati Lok Sabha seats to the saffron party in AP. BJP also sought Vijayawada to accommodate Purandeswari who joined the party recently or Kavuri but it was unsuccessful. Though Haribabu seems to be a clear choice for the party ticket, sources now say that Purandeswari or Kavuri were not being ruled out to contest here in case Jagan decides to field his sister Sharmila from Vizag. On the record, now Purandeswari is saying she would contest from wherever the party will ask her to. But with some internal battle going on, either Hair Babu or NTR's daughter may be asked to refrain from contesting and they may be given the promise of Rajya Sabha.
