The troubled alliance which has been forged between TDP and the BJP is reportedly seen as blessing for the TRS in GHMC limits since party had hardly any strong candidates for fighting against major parties for more than half of the 24 Assembly seats. Disgruntled leaders from TDP as well as the BJP who have lost chance to contest the elections due to the alliance are now queuing upto the TRS to secure tickets. Most leaders feel it will be better to contest as a TRS candidate than that of an Independent. The TRS is now reportedly facing a heavy influx of leaders from these parties into the party by April 10. Since it was founded in 2001, the party has hardly had any presence in GHMC limits. It had won just two seats like Musheerabad and Secunderabad in the 2004 elections because of alliance with the Congress but it drew a blank in the 2009 elections though it was a key party in the grand alliance along with the TD and Left parties. T. Virendar Goud, son of TDP MP T. Devendar Goud, is reportedly upset with the Uppal seat being allotted to the BJP and is looking at other options. Same is the case with Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, TD leaders Mutaa Gopal and M.N. Srinivasa Rao while BJP leaders from Amberpet, Khairatabad, Sanathnagar, Goshamahal, Kukatpally, Jubilee Hills and Secunderabad constituencies are now looking for other alternatives.
